Director's Statement

This project was born within the framework of the workshop that Abbas Kiarostami gave in the city of Barcelona, February 2015. A theme was given to us at the beginning of the workshop: 'the sea', which almost immediately took me back to those summer days at my mom’s village where I would play with the seawaves for hours and hours, and the fun never seemed to end, or that’s how I felt at the time, much like what I sensed the kids were experiencing while playing with the soup-bubbles at Ciutadella Park. Would I be able to capture that pure feeling of joy? What happens when we grow up?

Este proxecto nace dentro do marco do taller que Abbas Kiarostami deu na cidade de Barcelona en febreiro de 2015. Ao principio do taller, deunos un tema: "o mar", que de inmediato levoume de volta a aqueles días de verán na aldea da miña nai, onde xogaba coas ondas do mar durante horas e a diversión parecía non ter fin, ou iso era o que eu sentía naqueles momentos, Semellante, quizáis, ao que os nenos que filmei estaban experimentando ao xogar coas burbullas de xabón no Parque da Ciutadella. ¿Sería capaz de capturar esa sensación pura de ledicia?, ¿Qué ocorre cando medramos?
